Central Freight Acquires Assets of Georgia Carrier

Waco-based Central Freight Lines has acquired three freight terminals from a Georgia-based hauler, and will build two other terminals in that state, which has become a top market for Central, a spokeswoman for the company said in an interview Wednesday.

Central, a privately held, less-than-truckload carrier, will buy the terminals from DTI, which previously was known as Drug Transport Inc. Founded in 1959, DTI made its name by delivering critical shipments to hospitals, nursing homes and clinics throughout the South.
