Cobb Chamber Taps Hartman of GE Power & Water as Chair-Elect

The Cobb Chamber named Steve Hartman of GE Power & Water its 2015 chair-elect.
Hartman succeeds Kim Menefee of WellStar Health System, who will become chairwoman of the board in 2015. He will take over as chairman in 2016.
Hartman is chief technology officer for the Power Generation Services business in GE Power & Water. He leads a team of engineers who are responsible for developing lifecycle technology to help utilities and industrial power plants get the most of their power generation equipment. Prior to GE, he worked for Strategic Power Systems, a small start-up focused on power generation reliability.
Hartman is soccer coach with the YMCA. He sponsors GE’s local United Way campaign, its Veteran’s Network and its First Robotics program for 25 local schools. He also sits on the Board of the Directors for Georgia Tech’s Strategic Energy Institute.
