Georgia Credit Union Affiliates CEO to Receive Top National Award

Mike Mercer, president and CEO of Georgia Credit Union Affiliates, based in Duluth, has earned a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Credit Union Foundation (NCUF) as part of its 2015 Herb Wegner Memorial Awards program.

The Herb Wegner Memorial Awards are the highest national honors in the credit union movement.

Mercer will be recognized at a special dinner hosted by NCUF on March 9, 2015 in Washington, D.C., in conjunction with the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Governmental Affairs Conference. 

According to NCUF, the awards that bear Wegner's name recognize leaders of the national and international credit union movements whose achievements fulfill the mission of promoting financial freedom for millions of consumers around the world. 

The Lifetime Achievement Award honors an individual who has dedicated their life to promoting the credit union philosophy, created innovative concepts and provided leadership that has had a significant and lasting impact on national and/or international credit unions.
