On October 2nd, 2014, Atlanta Technology Leaders guest host Jay Ferro welcomed John Trainor with Aarons, Inc. to the studio to discuss integrating technology into marketing to advance business.

John Trainor, Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Aaron's, Inc., has helped Aaron's grow since 1999, increasing their number of locations more than 450% and grossing almost $3B in revenue. Trainor has an extensive technology background, and a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

"Any company needs some kind of technology to be effective," said Trainor. "Technology was not a big part of the company a number of years ago; it didn't need to be. In every aspect of the company we can apply some sort of technology to gain an advantage. What we're seeing is where we do apply it properly, we've gotten great results. It's all about making it easier for our associates to serve customers and using technology to do that."

Aaron's is a national leader in the sales and lease ownership and specialty retailing of residential and office furniture, consumer electronics, home appliances and accessories. With more than 1,800 company-operated and franchised stores in 48 states and Canada, Aaron's is an industry leader in serving the moderate-income customer.
