Press release from the issuing company
Tuesday, November 11th, 2014
Thursday, November 13, 2014 is the third annual Georgia Gives Day— a day of online giving for Georgia nonprofits. The Community Foundation of Central Georgia is excited to announce 155 nonprofits in Central Georgia will be participating this year.
The goal is for these registered nonprofits to raise as much money as possible in a single day.
To incentivize the nonprofits to raise money from their supporters and volunteers, The Community Foundation of Central Georgia is offering more than $90,000 in prizes thanks to generous grants from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and the Community Foundation of Central Georgia Board of Directors.
Through contributions and prizes last year, central Georgia nonprofits raised more than $200,000 on Georgia Gives Day 2013! Nonprofits across the state of Georgia raised nearly $1.5 million dollars in a single day.
Community Foundation President Kathryn Dennis said, “We hope Georgia Gives Day 2014 will be a success for local nonprofits. Georgia Gives Day should be a catalyst for nonprofits to engage donors in online giving and philanthropy.”
