Like a brand new penny, the Jekyll Island Convention Center, a $39 million project, stands shiny and just footsteps from the glistening sand.
And, much like a penny, it’s turned out to be a lucky charm, bringing a boost to the local economy. Since its completion in 2012, the location has become a steadfast receptionist for the island’s visitors.
