Winners Announced for 2014 Georgia CIO of the Year Awards

The Georgia CIO Leadership Association (Georgia CIO) proudly announces the winners of the 16th Annual CIO of the Year Awards.

Winners were announced at the Awards ceremony on October 31, at the Cobb Galleria Centre. George Conrades, Chairman & Former CEO of Akamai gave the keynote address to over 950 guests, representing Georgia’s largest organizations and their technology partners.

Established in 1998, the Georgia CIO of the Year Awards is the premier technology executive recognition program of its kind. This annual event honors chief information officers who have demonstrated excellence in technology leadership. CIOs and those in equivalent positions are selected by a distinguished panel of CIO judges, including prior Award winners, based upon their contributions in innovation, leadership, business value and community involvement.

The 2014 CIO of the Year Award winners are:
Global – Over 10,000 employees and multinational operations
John Trainor – VP & CIO, Aaron’s, Inc.
Enterprise – Over 1,000 employees
Bryson Koehler – EVP & CIO, The Weather Company
Corporate – Up to 1,000 employees
Walt Carter - CIO, Generation Mortgage Company
Emerging – Under 250 employees and technology is the primary driver of high growth
Joshua Silver – VP Product Development, Patientco
Non-profit/Public Sector – Government, education, and not-for-profit organizations
Curtis Carver – Vice Chancellor & CIO, University System of Georgia
Lifetime Achievement
