The Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), one of the nation’s largest state trade organizations dedicated to technology and innovation, recently profiled  the emerging technology communities that make up DeKalb County in the latest issue of Hub Magazine.   

The article which included DeKalb’s Decatur, Dunwoody and Perimeter areas, appears in the magazine’s Hub City feature which offers a glimpse of the communities that make up Georgia’s technology industry. Communities that are profiled each issue are able to showcase the unique attributes, businesses, endeavors and successes that make them a “Hub City” for technology in Georgia.

The article “DeKalb County: A Prescription for Innovation” was written by Nikki Forman and highlighted DeKalb’s role as a hub for Health IT innovation for the region. DeKalb is home to The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more than 250 Health IT companies and world class medical institutions like Emory University School of Medicine, Mercer University’s College of Pharmacy and others.  Roughly ten percent of the City of Atlanta is contained in DeKalb County.

In addition to the profile on DeKalb, fall issue of Hub Magazine focused on Health IT and features Dawn Whaley, President of Atlanta-based Sharecare on the cover. The issue was unveiled in front of a crowd of contributors and sponsors at a special ceremony at the Herman Miller Showroom in Atlanta’s Midtown West area.

Hub Magazine, TAG’s print component of the Hub multimedia brand, was launched earlier this year and reaches more than 25,000 innovators, entrepreneurs and technologists across Georgia. Each issue features a wide-range of content from enterprises and organizations such as AT&T, U.S Army Signal Center, Cox Communications and others.
