RIB Group announced that the company has entered into a phase II iTWO agreement with the world’s leading research University, Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) in Atlanta, Georgia, to utilize the iTWO 5D software platform and the accelerated iTWO working methodology. Georgia Tech is the first University owner to invest in the leading iTWO big data 5D technology for both its campus investment and its research and teaching programs. The phase II agreement will deliver a P88 package of iTWO licenses to the University.
Georgia Tech has also installed an iTWO 5D Lab on campus. The iTWO 5D Lab is a well configured 5D environment for cross-stakeholder collaborative working and virtual end to end construction for campus projects. Georgia Tech will utilize the iTWO licenses and Lab to support the University’s teaching and big data research, as well as to enable better cost savings and quality control on capital expenditures. The partnership will also enhance the already powerful research capability of Georgia Tech with respect to BIM, Big Data, and engineering.
Thomas Wolf, CEO of RIB said “RIB is very excited in the partnership with Georgia Tech to define new standards for the construction industry’s next generation of methods that will use BIG Data to perform smart analytics. The new methods and new technology will enable project teams to collaborate using the iTWO platform to learn and study how to better plan, execute and manage construction projects.”
