Tuesday, February 24th, 2015

Newtek Business Services Corp., The Small Business Authority, announced today the release of the SB Authority Index of small business indicators for January 2015 which reached 130.08 points.  Approved SBA lending volumes, new entity formation and the ADP employment report led the increase. The SB Authority Index is up 0.18% from December 2014.  On a year-over-year comparison, the SB Authority Index is up 4.00%.

Barry Sloane, Chairman, President and CEO of The Small Business Authority commented, "The SB Authority Index and the small business market is off to a slow start in 2015, however the seeds are planted for slow continuous growth throughout the rest of the year. Higher levels of financing offered by banks, as well as a robust equity market, will sow the seeds for continued growth in 2015."
