Study: Georgia the Ninth Worst State for Income Tax
Friday, February 6th, 2015
Georgia is the ninth worst state for taxes, with single filers making the state's median income of $47,439 paying $2,356 in state income taxes, or 4.97 percent of their incomes, according to GOBankingRates.com.
The website ranked all 50 states from worst to best based on six factors that affect state income filing: the rate associated with one's income bracket; the standard deduction amount; personal exemption per filer; exemption per dependent; whether the state income tax is deducted based on net or gross income post federal filing; and whether local income taxes are applicable in each of the 50 states.
