Delta Community Credit Union, Georgia's largest credit union with $4.7 billion in assets and more than 310,000 members, announces a call for entries for its annual scholarship program. The scholarship program will award five applicants a total of $20,000 in scholarship money based on academic achievement, community involvement and submission of an essay on a topic selected by the Credit Union.
"We're committed to supporting the financial and physical well-being of individuals who live in the communities we serve," says Delta Community CEO Hank Halter. "We're proud to provide these scholarships and other resources, such as our Quarterlife program for young adults. It is our sincere hope that those who benefit from the programs will, in turn, make a positive difference in their own communities."
Now in its tenth year, the Delta Community Scholarship Program awards three $5,000 and two $2,500 scholarships to eligible students seeking a first undergraduate degree. It is designed to provide supplemental funds to cover expenses, including tuition, books, lodging or meal costs.
All scholarship applications must be received by the close of business on April 10, and winners will be notified and announced on or before May 15. Applicants must be Delta Community members enrolled full-time at an accredited college or university in the United States during the fall semester of the 2015-2016 academic year.
