Georgia House OKs New Name for Technical College System

The Technical College System of Georgia would get a new name under legislation approved by the state House of Representatives Tuesday.
The bill, which passed 122-40, would rechristen the technical college system the Georgia Career College System.
Gov. Nathan Deal is backing the legislation as part of an effort to steer Georgia's technical colleges more toward the state's workforce development needs.
