Friday, March 20th, 2015
Georgia Power announced today a series of special offers on ENERGY STAR certified CFL and LED lighting at participating retailers statewide. No coupons or rebate forms are needed to reap the savings on high-tech, high-efficiency lighting options – just look for the Georgia Power tag in-store to save instantly at the register. Offers are good while quantities last, with a limit of 16 bulbs per customer.
Through May 31, 2015, customers can:
- Save $3 on select 4-pack CFLs at participating Walmart and The Home Depot retail locations.
- Save $2-$3 on select LED bulbs at participating Walmart, Sam's Club*, The Home Depot, and Costco* retail locations.
"We're committed to creating opportunities for customers to use energy more efficiently," said Michele Wagner, director of energy efficiency for Georgia Power. "Switching to ENERGY STAR certified CFL and LED lights is one of the easiest ways to save money and energy. Rebates on these products are always popular with our customers."
Customers who take advantage of this program not only save when making the purchase but should enjoy savings long into the future thanks to the benefits of this advanced lighting technology. ENERGY STAR certified CFL and LED lights consume 75 percent less energy than conventional incandescent lights. CFLs can last up to seven years and LEDs can last up to 25 years.
Georgia Power continues to partner with The Home Depot to offer recycling for CFL bulbs at the retailer's stores in Georgia. The company sponsors in-store bins at The Home Depot locations throughout the state, which creates the state's most widespread recycling program for CFLs.
