United Community Bank Hires Katapodis as Regional President

United Community Banks Inc. hired Tasia T. Katapodis as its newest regional president.
The Blairsville, Ga.-based bank said Katapodis was the only woman to be named president of a U.S. based regional bank in Atlanta when she was hired as regional president for Winston-Salem, N.C.-based BB&T Corp. in Atlanta. At BB&T she managed the bank's largest region in their franchise, responsible for its $4 billion dollar banking operation in Cobb, Cherokee, Fulton, Dekalb, Gwinnett and Forsyth counties.
