Mayor Reed: Atlanta Streetcar’s Fare to be Free Through 2015

The Atlanta Streetcar will continue its free fares through the end of the year, Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed announced Tuesday at the annual breakfast meeting of Central Atlanta Progress.
The Atlanta Streetcar, which began operating its downtown loop on Dec. 31, 2014, was supposed to be free only for the first three months. Then the fare was supposed to be $1, collected through MARTA and its Breeze card system.
