DTI, a global legal process outsourcing company providing eDiscovery, managed services, and litigation support, announced today the appointment of Edward R. James III as its chief financial officer. James will succeed Chris Henderson, who will transition to a senior advisor to the DTI board of directors after serving as CFO over the last 14 years of unprecedented growth. James’ background includes over 20 years of experience in financial operations leadership roles.

James comes to DTI from Birch Communications, Inc., an Atlanta-based provider of communications, broadband, cloud, and hosted IT services, where he served as CFO, senior vice president of finance and treasurer since 2008. In that role, he managed the financial operations of the company, provided strategic leadership and executed several M&A and financing transactions that fueled the company’s growth.

Prior to working at Birch Communications, James held finance leadership positions at Carter’s, Inc., American Telecom Services, Inc. (AMEX: TES) and United Parcel Service.

“We’re excited to welcome Eddie to the DTI executive leadership team,” said John Davenport Jr., DTI CEO and founder. “We believe that Eddie’s extensive experience in leading organizations through rapid growth will be extremely valuable to our company as we take advantage of numerous opportunities in front of us.”

“After an exhaustive search for the right combination of cultural fit, leadership experience and financial stewardship, I am pleased to have Eddie join the DTI family and am confident that he will do an exceptional job leading DTI through the next phase of the company’s successful growth,” remarked Henderson. “I am looking forward to working with Eddie as we each move into our new roles.”

Commenting on his appointment to the CFO position, James said, “I’m humbled and very excited to join this talented and dedicated team, and I look forward to contributing to the continued success of the company as we set our sights on the future. The excitement of DTI’s history of growth is exceeded only by its prospect of continued growth.”

James earned an MBA from Cumberland University and a Bachelor of Science in business administration and finance from Mississippi College.
