Preferred Apartment Communities, Inc. today announced that it will be added to the Russell 2000 and Russell 3000 Indexes effective after the close of market on June 26, 2015, as part of Russell Investments' annual index reconstitution. "We are pleased with the recognition of the success of our organization since our IPO and believe that is reflected in this selection," said John A. Williams, PAC's Chief Executive Officer.
The annual reconstitution of the Russell 3000 captures the 3,000 largest U.S. stocks as of the end of May, ranking them by total market capitalization. The largest 1,000 companies in this ranking make up the Russell 1000 and the next 2,000 companies comprise the Russell 2000. The Russell 3000 also serves as the U.S. component to the Russell Global Index. Russell indexes are widely used by investment managers and institutional investors for index funds and as benchmarks for passive and active investment strategies. Russell indexes are part of FTSE Russell, a global index provider. For more information on the Russell indexes, visit http://www.russell.com/indexes/.
