More Greenspace May Soon be Staying on Jekyll Island

Land pegged for development on Jekyll Island may remain as green space. The Jekyll Island Authority could approve accepting a donation from Leon Weiner and Associates of just over two acres for public green space when the board convenes Monday for its regular monthly meeting.

The property was once part of the grounds of the former Buccaneer and Georgia Coast Inn hotels. The former hotels, both built in the 1960s, were demolished more than seven years ago.
