Lisa J. Smith of Georgia Power to Serve as Speaker for Spring 2016 Commencement at Atlanta Technical College

Lisa J. Smith, region manager for Georgia Power’s Metro South Region, will serve as the speaker for the Spring 2016 Commencement at Atlanta Technical College. The ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 16, at the Georgia International Convention Center.
Smith, who has been with the Georgia Power Company since 1997, leads the company’s operations in serving more than 265,000 customers in the southern crescent of metropolitan Atlanta. She is responsible for region operations, sales, customer service, economic and community development, and external affairs activities.
A native of Meridian, Miss., Smith earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Mississippi State University and an MBA from Kennesaw State University. She has served as a member of the board of directors for the Newnan-Coweta Chamber of Commerce and Fayette Education Foundation, and as vice president of the boards of both the Central Educational Center and Communities In Schools.
During the Spring 2016 Commencement, Atlanta Technical College will confer degrees, diplomas and technical certificates of credit.
