Tuesday, June 7th, 2016
The Atlanta City Council approved a controversial land swap with the state of Georgia Monday that will help make way for the redevelopment of Underground Atlanta.
Under an ordinance council members passed 12-3, the city will transfer the Bobby Jones Golf Course in Buckhead to the state. In exchange, the city will acquire a state-owned parking deck in downtown Atlanta, which will serve a mixed-use project on the Underground Atlanta site that could involve up to $400 million in new commercial and residential development.
