Representatives from Georgia Piedmont Technical College and Georgia Military College held  an articulation agreement signing ceremony on Georgia Piedmont Technical College’s main campus to participate in a signing ceremony in which leaders from both institutions ratified several articulation agreements.  These agreements simplify the transfer process for GPTC students who wish to further their education at Georgia Military College.

“Our college is committed to helping our students succeed educationally, and the transfer agreements with Georgia Military College are a great opportunity,” said Dr. Jabari Simama, President, Georgia Piedmont Technical College.  “I’m delighted we have launched such a productive and meaningful relationship between our two institutions of higher education.  We are very pleased to provide this seamless path to our students who wish to further their education and pursue a Bachelor’s Degree at Georgia Military College.  Through these transfer agreements, our colleges are strengthening Georgia’s workforce by preparing graduates for 21st century careers,” concluded Dr. Simama.

The goal of the articulation agreement is to provide Associate of Applied Science graduates of select Georgia Piedmont Technical College programs with an opportunity to continue with Georgia Military College to earn a Bachelor of Applied Science degree with Georgia Military College.

This agreement formally recognizes that Georgia Piedmont Technical College and Georgia Military College are committed to the establishment of an educational partnership to better serve currently enrolled and future students attending both institutions.  In addition, this partnership will support economic and workforce development in the communities served by these educational institutions.

“We are thrilled to launch this partnership with Georgia Piedmont Technical College to serve the students of Georgia,” said Lt. Gen. William B. Caldwell, IV, President, Georgia Military College. “Our BAS degrees are designed to build upon the occupational/technical education provided by an associate of applied science degree program and provide an excellent pathway toward completion of a bachelor degree. Our BAS degree programs prepare students for career advancement opportunities and management and supervisory roles in their technical or occupational field. This partnership with GPTC is another step in providing greater opportunities and a brighter future for the citizens of Georgia and is consistent with Gov. Nathan Deal’s Complete College Georgia initiative designed to provide an improved educational pipeline from high school through college graduation.”

Administrators from both colleges will continue to work together in an effort to continue to expand the number of additional programs that will transfer seamlessly between the respective institutions.
