Synovus/Bank of North Georgia announced the appointment of David Abee as executive vice president, middle market banking executive. Abee was previously with Regions Bank for 10 years, most recently as market president of the Northeast Georgia Region.

“With more than 25 years in the financial services industry, David Abee is a deeply experienced banker, offering a wealth of personal knowledge of industries, companies and economic development opportunities in north Georgia,” said Rob Garcia, Synovus North Georgia Division CEO. “Customers and team members will be in great hands with David, and we are thrilled to have him on board.”

Abee is an executive board member of Junior Achievement of Northeast Georgia; past campaign chair of United Way of Hall County; past chairman of March of Dimes WalkAmerica Northeast Georgia and Heartwalk for the American Heart Association Northeast Georgia. He also served as executive board member and treasurer of The Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce; Board Chair for the Quinlan Visual Arts Center and The Arts Council of Northeast Georgia. Abee is currently vice chair of the Gainesville Redevelopment Authority, and chairs the Finance Committee at The Chattahoochee Country Club.

Abee is a graduate of Samford University and earned a graduate degree in commercial banking and management from The University of Oklahoma.
