Planet Fitness, known for its high-quality fitness experience, affordable prices and a hassle-free, non-intimidating environment called the Judgement Free Zone®, today announced the company has made a $10,000 donation to its local nonprofit partner Boys & Girls Club of Metro Atlanta. Boys & Girls Club of Metro Atlanta works to save and change the lives of children and teens, especially those who are the most in need. The organization provides the kids it serves with a safe, positive and engaging environment, as well as programs that prepare and inspire them to achieve great futures. 

Planet Fitness’ donation will help support the drive-up meals initiative and food insecurity task force of Boys & Girls Club of Metro Atlanta, which has served more than 17,500 meals locally since March. For many Boys & Girls Club members and their families, the COVID-19 pandemic underscores a critical food insecurity issue. With schools closed, vulnerable youth are left without the meals they rely on daily. The Planet Fitness donation will help fund nearly 350 meal bags for local Boys & Girls Club members. The meal bags will contain recipe cards and all the ingredients needed to feed an entire family breakfast, lunch and dinner so deserving families will have one less thing to worry about during these uncertain times. Each family will also receive a soccer ball to promote physical outdoor activity.

Metro-Atlanta Planet Fitness locations are now open and closely following guidelines outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as local health authorities, to provide a clean and safe environment for members and employees. Planet Fitness remains committed to high cleanliness standards and has extensive, cleaning and sanitization policies in place. In addition to rigorous nightly deep cleaning, members will notice many enhanced procedures, including increased sanitation stations throughout the gym floor, physical distancing measures and touchless check-in. Signage has been added throughout the club explaining the steps being taken to keep the clubs clean to help keep members and staff healthy.
