Georgia State Names New VP for Development and Alumni Affairs

Jay Kahn, executive senior associate vice president for advancement at Purdue University, has been appointed vice president for development and alumni affairs at Georgia State University.
“We are extremely excited about welcoming Jay Kahn to Georgia State,” said Georgia State President Mark Becker. “He will bring a new perspective that will enable us to build on the success of our recently completed capital campaign. Jay will lead our team of fund-raising and alumni affairs professionals at a time when the support of our alumni, donors and friends has never been more vital.”
Kahn joined Purdue in 2016 as associate vice president for advancement and was named senior associate vice president for advancement and corporate and foundation relations in 2018.
He began his professional development career as assistant director of annual giving at Ohio University in 2012. He was later appointed director of development for university advancement and senior director of development for university advancement at Ohio.
Kahn earned his bachelor’s degree in sport and event management at Elon University, his master’s degree in higher education administration at Bowling Green State University and his master of business administration degree at Ohio.
Kahn succeeds Walter Massey, who retired as Georgia State’s vice president for development and alumni affairs after 11 years in the position.
