The McGee Group, a family-owned, American eyewear company specializing in the design and manufacturing of eyewear, sunglasses, readers and cases, is pleased to announce that Amy Moore, Vice President of Product Development, has been named to Vision Monday’s Most Influential Women in Optical Report. Moore was named to the publication’s “Rising Star” list, which honors women who are deemed “up-and-comers” in their careers and at their companies.

In its 18th year, Vision Monday’s Most Influential Women in Optical Report honors women who have made a difference in the eyewear industry, ranging from their leadership, visionary approach to their job, and how they give back to their colleagues, patients and communities. This year’s group of honorees are made up of executives, sales and marketing professionals, ECPs, administrators, researchers and teachers.

At The McGee Group, Moore manages a team who are responsible for product development and design. As part of her work, she leads the design process for several of the company’s premier brand partners, including Badgley Mischka, Vera Bradley and Life is Good. She also oversees work for retail collections.

“I take great pride in being included among such amazing, talented, and hardworking women within the optical industry,” Moore said. “When I was notified of this honor, I was overcome by emotions and took the time to sit by myself and really appreciate every emotion I was feeling. Prior to joining The McGee Group, she worked primarily in the apparel industry, working as an assistant merchandiser for Anne Klein for the company’s AK2 launch, as well as an assistant at Ann Ren New York, an independent women’s apparel designer. 

Moore transitioned to the eyewear industry 17 years ago. She joined The McGee Group in 2011.
