Greenberg Traurig’s Joel Katz and Jess Rosen Named to Billboard’s 2020 Country Power Players List

Shareholders Joel A. Katz and Jess L. Rosen, of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, have been recognized by Billboard magazine as 2020 Country Power Players. According to their website, the sixth annual Country Power Players list celebrates the genre’s wins in the past year.

In 2019, Katz negotiated numerous high-profile country music deals including the sale of Big Machine Label Group to Ithaca Holdings and The Carlyle Group, along with representing Warner Music Nashville chairman and CEO John Esposito and Sony Music Nashville Chairman and CEO Randy Goodman in the recent extensions of their employment agreements. Rosen negotiated Kenny Chesney’s 2020 stadium tour and sponsorship deals, a publishing deal for Miranda Lambert, and Live Nation partnerships for Thomas Rhett and Florida Georgia Line.

Katz is founding chairman of the firm’s global Entertainment & Media Practice and the founding shareholder of the Atlanta office. Katz is consistently recognized by numerous publications and organizations as having one of the world’s leading and most innovative entertainment and media practices and has been listed as Billboard magazine’s number-one ranked entertainment attorney in its ‘Power 100’ list of most powerful executives in the music business.
