WHAT: The Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) has contracted with Brooks-Berry-Haynie & Associates of Mableton, Georgia to install CCTV camera systems at 13 locations along Interstate 75 from just south of McDonough in Henry County to Forsyth in Monroe County. The crews will start the project on Monday, Sept. 14, 2020 with the work expected to be complete by the end of summer, 2021. The venture was developed as two 'Quick Response' projects with a total cost of $399,000.
The new cameras will give the Georgia DOT's Traffic Management Center (TMC) and District 3 Operations Center the ability to closely monitor the traffic flow on Interstate 75 in west central Georgia. The contractor will install the poles, CCTV cameras and solar-powered, wireless computer systems.

Drivers are urged to be alert to the possibility of the work zones and to safely move into the open lanes at their earliest opportunity.
