The Locust Grove-based I Think I Am Foundation has partnered with KelMerica, of Miami, to donate 200 personal protection facemasks, two cases of hand sanitizer and other items to Hope for Domestic Violence.

Hope for Domestic Violence received the donations, worth thousands of dollars, the beginning of this week. Included in the donations were clothing, shoes, sheets, blankets, jackets, hats, household items, school supplies and the aforementioned personal protection masks and hand sanitizer, among other items.  Hard to find or cost prohibitive items such as these are often needed when families encounter domestic violence and are no longer in a home environment.

“This donation is important for the growing number of families that are experiencing domestic violence during these trying times in our communities,” said I Think I Am Foundation Director, Deanna Moore. “Partnering with organizations to provide needed supplies, services and opportunities to this often underserved population is what drives our organization and those of our partners.”

“Having grown up in the lower income suburbs of Miami, I have seen the effect of domestic violence on families and the needs that arise from it,” said KelMerica Chief Executive Officer, Kelly Gonzalez, Jr. “Being able to partner with organizations, such as the I Think I Am Foundation, allows us to support these families, and associated non-profit organizations, through donations.”

I Think I Am Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, focuses on and supports children placed in the foster care system, adopted children, and at-risk youth and families. The Foundation’s mission is to develop educational programs, curriculum, and platforms that will educate individuals affiliated directly or indirectly with adoption/foster care systems, substance abuse programs, life-threatening health-related scenarios, at-risk youth development, and low-income community support and educational development. For more information or to donate, visit www.ithinkiamfoundation.com.
