Cynthia Day, president and CEO of Citizens Trust Bank in Atlanta, became president of the bank in 2012. She joined Citizens Trust in 2003 as executive vice president of management services after the bank acquired Citizens Federal Savings Bank of Birmingham. Day had served as executive vice president and chief operating officer and in other capacities at Citizens Federal since 1993. Two years after the acquisition, Day became senior executive vice president and chief operating officer of the company and the bank. Prior to becoming a banker, Day worked for KPMG as an audit manager for companies in the banking, insurance, manufacturing and education industries. She is vice chair of the board of directors of the National Bankers Association, chair of the audit committee of the board of directors for Aarons Inc., and serves on the board of directors for Primerica.
