With the COVID-19 pandemic came changes to the way the arts community works and interact with their patrons. At the Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta, the largest nonprofit organization in the United States solely dedicated to the art of puppetry, the team immediately began creating virtual programming. By May, their programs had reached over 200,000 homes and 89 countries.
Corporate sponsors including Georgia Power are continuing to support the Center by providing funding that is necessary to expand on a national and international level, increase innovation and provide diverse theatrical performances and educational experiences in-person and on digital platforms.
The Center re-opened to the public in July with safety modifications in place. The Center for Puppetry Arts regularly draws over 160,000 visitors each year. Georgia Power is proud to continue their partnership with the nonprofit to provide education, arts and fun for children and adults.
