Viral Solutions was founded by emergency physician Dr. Benjamin Lefkove and physician assistant Ron Sanders in an effort to resolve the current COVID-19 testing crisis in Georgia. Viral Solutions’ mission is to make sure Atlantans have immediate access to the best diagnostic testing available. 

“We strongly believe no one should have to wait to get a COVID-19 test,” says Dr. Lefkove, “and all patients, including the uninsured, should have easy access to testing.”

Viral Solutions provides its services with no out-of-pocket cost to the patient. The practice bills each patients’ insurance provider for the cost of the test. Viral Solutions does not balance bill patients, collect co-pays, deductibles, or co-insurance. Additionally, the practice does not charge uninsured patients for the cost of the evaluation or testing. Those without insurance simply certify they are uninsured at the time of evaluation.

Each patient receives a real-time evaluation by a Viral Solutions physician or physician assistant. Viral Solutions performs PCR swab testing, which has the highest specificity for the detection of COVID-19. Patients typically receive results in two to three days or sooner. 

“We continually strive to shorten the time it takes patients to receive results,” Sanders says. “We’ve been able to get it down to three days or less, and we’re currently in discussions with laboratories to try and get the turnaround to an even shorter timeframe.”
