Atlanta Press Club Loudermilk-Young Debates Series Hosts Historic Georgia Senate Runoff Election Debates

The Atlanta Press Club Loudermilk-Young Debate Series is proud to host debates between the candidates for both of Georgia’s U.S. Senate seats. Senator Kelly Loeffler and Reverend Raphael Warnock have confirmed their participation in a debate airing live on Georgia Public Broadcasting on Sunday, December 6 from 7 - 8 p.m. Jon Ossoff and Senator David Perdue were also invited to participate.
Jon Ossoff is confirmed to participate in the debate taking place at 5 p.m. on the same day, but at this time, Senator David Perdue has declined. The invitation remains open, and the Atlanta Press Club hopes he will change his mind. *(see note below).
The debates will be moderated by WAGA-TV/Fox5 Anchor Russ Spencer, with Atlanta Journal-Constitution Political Writer Greg Bluestein and WABE Radio Morning Edition Host and Senior Producer Lisa Rayam as panelists.

“In a year when the election of Georgia’s two Senators will determine control of the U.S. Senate, it is vital that voters have this opportunity to hear from all the candidates,” said Atlanta Press Club Chair Marylynn Ryan. “These debates are an important public service that the Atlanta Press Club is proud to offer to Georgians.”
Location: The debates will take place live in studio at Georgia Public Broadcasting, located at 260 14th Street, NW, Atlanta, GA 30318. All media must request credentials by Dec. 3 to attend the debate. Space will be extremely limited due to COVID-19 restrictions.

5 - 6 p.m. - Live Debate U.S. Senate (Perdue Incumbent)
Invited candidates: Jon Ossoff (D) and David Perdue (R) (please see below statement)
6 - 7 p.m. - Q&A with Ossoff and Perdue (GPB Lobby)
7 - 8 p.m. - Live U.S. Senate Special Election (Loeffler Incumbent)
Invited candidates: Kelly Loeffler (R) and Raphael Warnock (D)
8 - 9 p.m. - Q&A with Loeffler and Warnock (GPB Lobby)
Media Parking: Parking will be available for media in the Georgia Public Broadcasting parking deck at no charge. Media should park on the 5th and 6th levels of the parking deck.
Health & Safety: Masks will be mandatory for all attendees and temperatures will be checked before admission to the building. Social distancing arrangements are being made to protect the health of all attendees. Due to the pandemic, the debates are not open to the general public.
