Georgia Power has partnered with a local business owner to bring electric vehicle (EV) charging to a busy shopping center in Forest Park.

Craig Ogletree, area manager and Todd Allums, electric transportation market specialist at Georgia Power worked with Steven Barnard of Jasber Management to bring two dual EV stations with four ports to the Jasber Plaza Shopping Center at 1105 Main Street in Clayton County. The busy shopping center is home to four popular restaurants and shops in the community.

“We knew that electric vehicles were the wave of the future and we wanted to provide charging options for our neighbors and customers that promote clean, sustainable living,” said Barnard. “We wanted to not only create a place to charge, but a place that families can visit and enjoy a nice meal at the same time.”

The team at Jasber Management completed their own installation of the two EV stations but worked closely with Georgia Power on front end design. Barnard plans to purchase additional EV chargers in the future for a new on-site hotel.

Georgia Power will also invest $6 million over the next three years in fast-charging EV infrastructure for the public, further enabling electric vehicle adoption and connecting communities.

Georgia Power is committed to growing the electric vehicle market and is dedicated to providing customers with the resources they need to learn more about the benefits and potential savings of driving electric. Learn more at www.GeorgiaPower.com/EV.
