Georgia Power has provided a grant for $10,000 to the United Way of Greater Atlanta, Inc., for 2020 COVID-19 Emergency Relief and to support the #ATLStrong efforts.

“The company applauds the work that the City of Atlanta is doing in partnership with the United Way of Greater Atlanta to serve our community and we greatly appreciate their partnership,” said Bentina Terry, senior vice president of Metro Atlanta & Corporate Relations at Georgia Power.

Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms announced the #ATLStrong Fund in partnership with the United Way of Greater Atlanta, Inc. in May to support local nonprofit organization in providing emergency rental assistance to Atlanta households that earn 60% or less of Area Median Income within the city limits. Additionally, the fund supports City of Atlanta residents experiencing economic hardships and health-related issues caused by COVID-19.

In March, the Georgia Power Foundation invested $1 million to support the state of Georgia in addressing the unprecedented impacts of the pandemic. The investment focused on making an impact on addressing food insecurity, homelessness and displaced workers assistance during COVID-19.
