Partnership Gwinnett, in collaboration with
The Council for Quality Growth, held the 2020 Metro Atlanta Redevelopment Summit (MARS) Awards virtually because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Presented by
Georgia Power, MARS is the premier redevelopment event in the Atlanta region, bringing together more than 300 developers, commercial real estate brokers, elected officials, business leaders and community development experts.
“Redevelopment is vital to the smart growth of a community,” said Gwinnett County Commission Chair Charlotte Nash. “This event is always a great regional overview of redevelopment both big and small and honoring those projects leading the way.”
The MARS Awards recognize outstanding redevelopment projects in the region, along with one individual, for their commitment and exceptional redevelopment work in metro Atlanta.
“We are honored to be recognized by these outstanding community groups for a project that has been a true team effort from the start, from the leadership of Gwinnett County and both the leadership and vision of the City of Lawrenceville to the joint-venture development partnership,” said Jim Borders, President, Novare Group. “SouthLawn transformed a corner of downtown from single-story, stand-alone commercial and industrial buildings surrounded by parking lots into a walkable live-work-play community that creates connectivity in the heart of Lawrenceville.”
SouthLawn features thoughtfully selected street-level retail destinations below two distinct apartment communities —
Populus at SouthLawn and
Conclave. Populus at SouthLawn features open breezeways, stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, subway tile backsplash, walk-in closets and wood-like plank flooring. It also has an abundance of market-leading amenities, including an elevated rooftop pool, in-ground resort-style pool, two clubrooms, state-of-the-art fitness center, oversized dog park, pet spa and multiple green spaces and pocket parks.
Conclave offers exclusive residences with enclosed conditioned corridors, quartz countertops, designer backsplash tile, matte black hardware and fixtures and upgraded flooring. It also features several additional luxury amenities, such as its own pool, fitness center, clubroom and business center.
SouthLawn is anchored by a central one-acre town green, which connects to the Lawrenceville Lawn to the north via an elegant streetscape. The town green is encircled by 23 detached single-family homes and 118 townhomes by
Smith Douglas Homes and another 17 townhomes by
Walker Anderson Homes.
“We work every day to ensure quality growth and redevelopment in Metro Atlanta,” said Michael Paris, President & CEO at Council for Quality Growth. “We are proud to partner with Partnership Gwinnett on the Metro Atlanta Redevelopment Summit where we highlight community preservation and strategic economic planning.”
