Erin’s Hope for Friends (EHFF) is a nonprofit 501(c)3 with the mission to create lasting relationships through joyful interactions for teens and young adults on the autism spectrum.

EHFF was born out of the tragic loss of Erin Horst, a vibrant teen with Asperger's Syndrome. With so many individuals on the Autism Spectrum experiencing isolation and bullying on a daily basis, our organization understands the importance and value of a support network. Darren and Stacy Horst lost their beloved daughter too soon but aspire to allow her compassionate spirit to live on through their charity.

“If Erin had one really good friend she connected with, a friend she could do something with just one evening a week, it would have changed her whole life,” said Darren Horst, the father of Erin.

Erin's Hope for Friends (EHFF) was incorporated in 2014. In 2016, EHFF launched e's Club in Alpharetta. In 2018, a second site opened in Acworth, Georgia, followed by the launch of the Young Adult program at both sites. In 2019, EHFF launched e’s Essentials, a program for teens and young adults to develop important life skills. In 2020, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, e’s Club was converted to an online format using Zoom meetings and increased meetings from 3 nights a week to 6 nights a week.

The clubs are the only centers of their kind in the U.S., where teens ages 12-18 and young adults ages 18-24, can meet to socialize, play games together, create art projects and participate in structured group activities. The clubs offer weekly social gatherings, a structured calendar of events, and a wide range of experiences. Throughout the year, e’s Club also presents dances and outings for teens and young adults. These positive social interactions lead to lasting friendships in a safe environment. We seek to replicate this experience virtually in the midst of the COVID-19 outbreak.

Since its inception, e’s Club has reached more than 500 teens and young adults across metro-Atlanta. There is a growing demand and need for this one-of-a-kind opportunity for those with autism. By 2025, EHFF aims to be in every state across the US, filling the gap of social opportunities for individuals with autism.
