Georgia Power Provides Production, Broadcast Support for Alliance Theatre’s Racial Equity and Activism Animated Short
Wednesday, February 10th, 2021
Georgia Power is proud to sponsor the production and broadcast support of the Alliance Theatre’s animated short, “Sit-In.” The hour-long animated short will celebrate the power of youth to change history and is recommended for students in 4ththrough 6th grade and their families. In the production, we meet three friends as they learn about the sit-ins of the Civil Rights era and how they can apply those lessons to issues they are facing today.
The animated short will feature a mix of Civil Rights anthems and new freedom songs, while encouraging intergenerational conversations, and inspiring the next generation of conscientious social activists.
The special broadcast premiere will air on PBA Atlanta on Saturday, February 13th at 11 a.m. and Sunday, February 14th at 9 a.m. Viewers can also stream the production on demand at www.AllianceTheatre.org/sitin.
As Georgia Power moves to a larger framework and continues its position within diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I), the company is proud to support educational programming, organizations and nonprofits that focus on systemic racism, intersectionality, and race and identity.
