2021 Alzheimer's Association Dancing Stars of Atlanta Taking Their Dance Moves to a Virtual Ballroom
Monday, March 22nd, 2021
The Alzheimer’s Association Dancing Stars of Atlanta will take place on Thursday, May 13.
For the past ten years, the Dancing Stars of Atlanta event brought Atlanta area business leaders and philanthropists together to raise money by gaining votes in a one-night gala dance competition. As a voluntary health organization, the Alzheimer’s Association will continue to follow public health safety guidelines which includes not gathering in large groups.
This year, the event will feature dance pairs that will dance in a magical world of a virtual ballroom. Guests will attend from the comfort of their home. The event will have virtual red carpet activities that will feature past performances and a “who wore it best”. In addition, guests will hear from Atlanta families as they share their brave Alzheimer’s stories while learning the mission of the Alzheimer’s Association.
More than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's disease – the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States. Additionally, more than 11 million family members and friends provide care to people living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. In Georgia alone, there are more than 150,000 people living with the disease and 334,000 caregivers.
