East Cobb Area Council Hosts COVID-19 Update from Public Health Leaders on March 31st

The Cobb Chamber’s first East Cobb Area Council of 2021 welcomes Lisa Crossman of Cobb and Douglas Public Health and Marc Welsh of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta to share a community update on vaccination efforts in Cobb and how the virus has affected children, young adults and their families. The breakfast event is on March 31 at the Indian Hills Country Club at 8 a.m.
Lisa Crossman, Deputy Director at Cobb & Douglas Public Health, will share the latest stats and facts regarding the pandemic and vaccination rollout, the impact and side effects of the various vaccine options available, and the public health forecast of what to expect post-vaccine. Crossman and the Cobb & Douglas Public Health staff have been on the front lines of the pandemic response since February 2020 working nonstop to serve the community throughout the outbreak.
Marc Welsh, Director of Wellness at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, will discuss Children's Healthcare of Atlanta’s response to the outbreak, how the virus is affecting local children, young adults and their families, and how child advocacy has pivoted to help meet the needs of the community throughout the pandemic.
Registration for the East Cobb Area Council is open until Friday, March 26th, for in person attendance at www.cobbchamber.org/events. Walk-up admissions and payment cannot be granted. Attendees will be asked to wear masks during event check-in and while moving through the event space. Temperature checks will be conducted prior to entering the event space. To attend virtually, attendees can register for the event by 5 p.m. on March 29, selecting the virtual attendance option at www.cobbchamber.org/events. Virtual attendees will be sent the link to view the Marietta Area Council livestream in advance of the event.
