Georgia Power’s Plant McDonough Employees Provide Breakfast Snacks for Students at Local Elementary School
Wednesday, March 24th, 2021
While many school districts continue to operate remotely or in hybrid environments, Georgia Power employees at Plant McDonough in North Atlanta are continuing to be “citizens wherever they serve,” and support local students.
Citizens of Georgia Power – the active volunteer organization of Georgia Power employees – has had a long-standing relationship with Scott Elementary School, an Atlanta Public School near the plant. To continue to support students in need throughout the academic year, volunteers from Plant McDonough donated boxed breakfast snacks and more than 45 reusable water bottles to ensure students start the day on the right foot for success.
With more than 40 chapters statewide, Citizens of Georgia Power gives back to their local communities through in-person and virtual volunteer projects, fundraisers, and donations. In 2019, Citizens’ members logged more than 125,000 hours of service equal to $3.1 million.
