Tuesday, March 23rd, 2021
M3, the hospitality sector’s #1 cloud-based accounting, financial and data management platform in North America, has been awarded a Top Workplaces 2021 honor by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution for its third consecutive year. Chosen from a wide pool of nominees, M3 ranked #11 out of 70 midsized companies which employ 150 to 499 people. M3 ranked #23 in 2019 and #16 in 2020 in the midsized-companies category.
“At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, we took significant measures to prioritize the health and wellbeing of our employees,” said Allen Read, President/Partner of M3. "Investing in our employees is our top priority, and with heightened office safety protocols and increased remote work capabilities, we are proud to have maintained consistent yearly growth in 2020 without laying off or furloughing any staff.”
M3 is the top accounting, financial and data management solution for hoteliers, as ranked by Hotel Tech Report, employing over 200 employees with an impressive voluntary turnover rate of less than 10%. The company attributes its high retention rate to a number of things including its tendency to promote from within, filling 30% of job openings through promotions of its current employees.
“M3 works incredibly hard to make sure our employees have everything they need to succeed at work and at home,” said M3’s Senior VP of Human Resources Julie Farschman. “M3’s dedicated employee ambassador works with our employees every day to continuously develop and improve our corporate culture through in-house surveys, focus groups and roundtable discussions.”
In response to COVID-19, M3 implemented several safety measures for its employees, including the installation of automatic face mask detecting and temperature capturing cameras at every building entrance, plexiglass additions to workstations, socially distanced community spaces and an ultra-flexible work schedule.
M3’s work culture stresses professional and personal employee development with ongoing education and training programs as well as corporate mentoring programs and volunteer opportunities. The company also supports a family-friendly benefit structure, offering a wide choice of healthcare plans with 75-100% of employee family coverage and 6% of contributions in the company’s 401K plan matched.
Completed in 2020, M3 added 18,000 square feet to its 53,000-square-foot headquarters in Gwinnett to include a designated mother’s room, reflection/prayer room, a podcast room and a wellness room, in response to employee feedback. M3’s headquarters now totals 71,000 square feet.
The AJC Top Workplaces Awards celebrate small, midsized and large companies located in the Atlanta metro area for strength in company values, communication between employees and operational innovations and efficiencies. Winners are selected based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by employee engagement technology partner Energage, LLC. The anonymous survey uniquely measures 15 culture drivers that are critical to the success of any organization, including alignment, execution and connection, among many others.
