Georgia Power Employees Collect 500 Pounds of Trash Off South Cobb Drive

Georgia Power employees are making a difference in communities across the state this Earth Month by participating in projects that enhance environmental stewardship. Recently, employees from Plant McDonough in Smyrna participated in a clean-up along South Cobb Drive, ultimately collecting 500 pounds of trash.

With more than 40 chapters statewide, Citizens of Georgia Power - the employee volunteer arm of the company – gives back to their local communities through in-person and virtual volunteer projects, fundraisers, and donations. In 2020, Citizens’ members logged more than 55,000 hours of service equal to $1.5 million.
