Suburban Atlanta theater expands live event schedule with music, comedy and more

With events both indoors and out featuring great music and an abundance of laughter, Aurora Theatre is ramping up its live performances this spring. The new Aurora Welcomes Series explores creative partnerships to provide a steady stream of culturally rich entertainment to the community. This spring, Aurora Welcomes two exciting musical events: Moms Unleashed, a star-studded cabaret of Atlanta vocalists who have also been mothering during a pandemic; and We Are The Young, a one-of-a-kind concert by the Magic Eastern Ensemble. Aurora Theatre has stand-up comedy fans covered with the wildly popular outdoor comedy series Brew Ha-Ha in the Biergarten at Ironshield Brewing, and special to the month of May, on the mainstage at Aurora Theatre with a Mother’s Day Weekend Comedy Spectacular.

With summer just around the corner, kids of all ages too are ready for the return of in-person activities. Aurora Theatre Academy has a full slate of in-person summer camps and many will sell out at the annual springtime Summer Camp One-Day Sale on April 20.

The camps culminate with the three-week production camp. Students will perform Disney’s Moana JR., a 60-minute musical adaptation of the 2016 Disney animated film. The show features all of the beloved songs from the film, written by Tony®, GRAMMY, Emmy, and Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Lin-Manuel Miranda, Opetaia Foa’i and Mark Mancina, including “How Far I’ll Go,” “Shiny” and “You’re Welcome.”
