Covenant House Georgia (CHGA), a shelter and service provider for youth overcoming homelessness and escaping trafficking in metro Atlanta, is pleased to announce six dynamic Atlanta community leaders have joined its Board of Directors.

They are:

  • Anika M. Calloway, Enterprise Risk & Compliance Leader, Equifax Inc.

  • Kara Finley, Partner, PwC

  • Jo Ann Herold, Chief Marketing Officer, Honey Baked Ham Company

  • Dr. Sivan Hines, Pediatrician, Wellstar Pediatric and Adolescent Center of Cobb

  • Anna Umphress, Senior Director, Communications and Public Affairs, Georgia Pacific

  • Isaac Washington, Senior Vice President, CCB Credit / Truist

Since opening its doors in 2000, CHGA has served more than 19,000 young people throughout metro Atlanta.   In collaboration with the organization’s current board members, dedicated leadership and staff, and robust volunteer corps, the new board members hope to help change the lives of the youth CHGA serves.

“I am over the moon with excitement to welcome our newest board members to Covenant House Georgia,” said Dr. Alie Redd, Executive Director, Covenant House Georgia.  “Each of these leaders bring diverse perspectives and expertise, and they are deeply engaged with our organization and in our community.  We look forward to a long-lasting, impactful partnership.”

With 3,300 youth on the streets of Atlanta every night, the need for CHGA’s services has never been more critical.  In addition to offering a safe place to sleep at night, CHGA provides a continuum of resources – including medical care, behavioral healthcare, educational support, career readiness, employment services and life skills classes.  CHGA recently completed a multi-million-dollar capital campaign that supports the growth of its crisis shelter and a new on-site transitional housing facility, The Gift of Hope Apartments, and enhance support services.  The new facility is set to open in the fourth quarter of 2021.
