Robert Kerr, partner, Deloitte & Touche LLP, has been named emerging growth company practice leader for Deloitte’s Atlanta office. Kerr will oversee Deloitte’s activities with fast-growth, entrepreneurial companies in Georgia, including services related to financial reporting, regulatory compliance, capital acquisition and exit strategies, such as IPOs and SPACs.

“I’m grateful to have been asked to serve as the emerging growth company leader for Deloitte’s Atlanta office and am looking forward to continuing our work with clients in the area and to provide value to our technology ecosystem– especially as Atlanta grows as a national hub for start-up and fast-growth companies,” Kerr said. “What people do not necessarily realize about Deloitte is that in addition to serving, for example, some of the largest Fortune 500 companies with pride, we take an equal amount of pride in serving many companies who may have just received their initial seed or venture investment, companies and founders who find our 100-year history in Atlanta of serving companies throughout their entire life cycle to be quite valuable.”

Kerr has extensive experience working with clients across the technology, media and telecommunications sector, including companies backed by venture capital and private equity. A 15-year veteran with Deloitte, he leads Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500 program locally and is a member of the National Technology Leadership Council. He’s also a member of the Technology Association of Georgia and serves on the selection committee of Venture Atlanta. Finally, he is on the Board of Directors for Per Scholas, a non-profit with the goal building a more diverse technical workforce in Atlanta and nationwide.

Kerr holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of Georgia and is a certified public accountant in the state of Georgia.
