37th Annual Virginia-Highland Summerfest Announced for Sept. 25 & 26 Celebrating a Summer of Life

The Virginia-Highland Summerfest returns to Atlanta this year to celebrate life, community, and great art. Considered one of Atlanta’s most beloved and historic neighborhoods, Virginia-Highland will host its 37th-annual festival on Sept. 25-26, presented by the Virginia-Highland Civic Association.

The event brings together local and regional music talent on two stages, the Juried Artist Market, the Makers’ Market, a 5K run, food from local vendors and more! Visitors can celebrate the culmination of the summer with endless fun festivities.     

Live Music

Summerfest will bring back renowned local musicians, as well as regionally acclaimed singer-songwriters to perform on two different stages throughout the entire weekend. The music line-up will be published in August at http://www.vahisummerfest.org/. Best of all, live music at Summerfest is free for all audiences! 

In addition to the main stage, Summerfest hosts an Acoustic Street Party at Virginia/Highland Island on Friday, Sept. 25 and Saturday, Sept. 26 from 8 to 11 p.m.

Artist Market   

Atlanta’s premier art show features a display of fine, folk, and unique art from more than 200 artists from the Southeast and beyond. Attendees will have the opportunity to find the perfect piece of art for their home. The market will include painting, photography, sculpture, wood, stone, jewelry, metal, glass, textile and mixed media.

Makers’ Market

There will be 50+ booths featuring distinctive and handcrafted items. Some of these specialties include lotions, soap, candles, pet items and delicious consumables.

For the Kids   

Kidsfest is a special area allocated for the younger attendees and a place for families to share the fun and have some quality time. Children will enjoy games, crafts, kid-themed entertainment and activities, many of which are free. This year’s KidsFest will take place in the western section of John Howell Park on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

Summerfest 5K Road Race   

For more than 30 years, the Summerfest 5K Road Race has been acclaimed as one of the best  in the city. The race includes a free beer, a premium T-shirt and great scenery. The 5K takes place the morning of Saturday, Sept. 25 at 8 a.m. and welcomes serious runners, walkers and strollers.Registered participants 21 and older will receive a complimentary beer following the race. Advance registration and packet pick up is strongly encouraged: https://www.vahisummerfest.org/run/

Eating & Drinking   

Summerfest features a range of delicious food from an array of festival vendors and local restaurants. Beverages, beer, wine and cocktails are available throughout the festival grounds.

Sunday, Sept. 26 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Parking   

Summerfest offers an onsite bike valet. Limited, paid parking is available in certain business lots. Handicap parking is also available.
