Tuesday, July 20th, 2021

Georgia Power employees from the Customer Care Center in Henry County recently hosted a two-week virtual supply drive to help replenish supplies for the Pregnancy Resource Center (PRC). Donations were made in various ways including direct delivery to the PRC through Amazon Prime, monetary donations and items collected at the CCC.

“The supply drive was a success in this new virtual environment as we had $250 in monetary donations and numerous items donated” said Charlotte Fenn, customer services team lead for the Business Solutions Center at Georgia Power. “At the beginning of the year we encouraged our members to sign up for AmazonSmile and add our charities as the beneficiaries to receive .5% of every purchase. To date we’ve had 84 AmazonSmile donations!”

The Pregnancy Resource Center of Henry County is a pregnancy care clinic that provides families with access to timely services and needed resources. Through their iNvest Parent Prep Program, families can experience pregnancy and parenting education while working towards “purchasing” items needed for their baby.

With more than 30 chapters statewide, Citizens of Georgia Power - the employee volunteer arm of the company – gives back to their local communities through in-person and virtual volunteer projects, fundraisers, and donations. In 2020, Citizens’ members logged more than 55,000 hours of service equal to $1.5 million.
