Atlanta Children's Shelter 5K Breaks the Cycle of Poverty for Families Facing Homelessness

Monday, August 16th, 2021

The Atlanta Children's Shelter (ACS) will host its 35th anniversary 5K walk/run Thursday, September 9 to Sunday, September 12. The event will be held virtually and raises funds for ACS programs serving children and families facing homelessness in Metro Atlanta.

Race participants will directly impact families striving for self-sufficiency. In addition to the Early Childhood Education Program for young children, the Shelter also has a comprehensive Social Services program. ACS has kept all its families housed as the pandemic continues to impact the community.

This family-friendly virtual event can be held in any location chosen by the participant and includes a 5K run/walk and one-mile fun run for children (ages 4-10). All participants will receive a race t-shirt. Shirts will be mailed before race weekend to participants who register by August 27.

Online registration is now open. Registration is $35 per adult participant and $20 for one-mile fun run participants, ages 4-10. Registration closes Sunday, September 12, 2021, at 11:59 pm EDT.
