Tuesday, August 10th, 2021
The Georgia Power Foundation – the nonprofit arm of the Georgia Power Company – recently presented a $10,000 donation to “Let Us Make Man: The Gathering to Reclaim Black Manhood,” an organization dedicated to providing the best possible outcomes for young African American men in Atlanta.
For the past 16 years, the organization has led initiatives such as “Real Men Read,” personal growth and development, financial literacy, and mentorship. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the nonprofit has stayed connected with young men through virtual tools, social media and a virtual conference. The conference focused on mental health, academic recovery, and encounters with law enforcement.
In addition, the organization provides scholarships as well as in-person and virtual workshops for students.
